Dmytro Yaprakh on Hromadske Radio: How Online NGO Registration Works via the "Diia" Portal

UCIPR expert on legal support for freedom of association, Dmytro Yaprakh, appeared on the morning show "Toy Samyi Ranok" (That Very Morning) with Andrii Kulykov on Hromadske Radio.

The conversation focused on the new service on the "Diia" portal – online registration of public organizations (NGOs) based on a model charter.

Dmytro Yaprakh explained that implementing this service significantly simplifies the process of creating an NGO. From now on, registration takes place online, without the need for personal visits to justice authorities and without the direct involvement of a state registrar.

"Currently, this specifically concerns the registration of public organizations where the founders are individuals," the expert noted.

He also pointed out that those wishing to register an NGO can still follow the standard procedure with a custom charter through Administrative Service Centers (CNAPs) or territorial justice bodies. However, the model charter offers several advantages.

"It is faster, involves minimal bureaucracy, and reduces the risk of rejection. The system automatically generates all necessary documents, from the application to the constituent documents. After filling in the data, the user receives a complete package of documents in electronic format, which can be used both online and in paper form," added the UCIPR expert.

Furthermore, he emphasized that this approach opens new opportunities for the development of civil society and makes the creation of organizations more accessible.
