The President of Ukraine signed amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Humanitarian Aid": an infographic

The President of Ukraine signed amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Humanitarian Aid."

Experts from the UCIPR, Yuliia Panura and Maksym Latsyba actively worked on the document, contributing to its drafting and advocacy.

The law opens up new opportunities:

  • public and charitable organizations have been granted the right to import humanitarian vehicles for statutory humanitarian activities;
  • verified public and charitable organizations will be able to use humanitarian vehicles only for humanitarian response and assistance to war victims;
  • the use of such vehicles for commercial purposes is prohibited.

The legislative initiative belongs to People's Deputy Mykhailo Laba and a group of co-authors. The document is the result of numerous consultations and working discussions involving experts from the UCIPR, the Ministry of Social Policy, civil society organizations, customs and law enforcement agencies.

We are grateful to everyone who contributed to the development of the draft law: Iryna Vereshchuk, Halyna Tretyakova, Oksana Zholnovych, Mykhailo Tsymbaliuk, Yuriy Yuzich, Tetiana Pasenko, Marta Lihus, Daryna Tolkach, Nadiia Denysyuk, Vitalii Pazdrii, the Red Cross Society of Ukraine, and everyone who supported this initiative.

To help you navigate the new rules more easily, we have prepared an infographic on the four key innovations of the law.
