The Ukrainian Center for Independent Political Research continues to monitor changes in the legislative environment and share information that may be useful for your work. We invite you to review the key innovations from February regarding funding, access to resources, and the operating conditions for specific types of CSOs.
The government has expanded funding opportunities for CSOs involved in physical education and sports
From now on, budget funds can also be allocated to the All-Ukrainian NGO “Sports Student Union of Ukraine” and the NGO “Ukrainian Federation of Student Sports” for physical education, health, and sports events.
Funding will be provided for:
the purchase of goods and services for the organization of national and international physical education, health, and sports events among schoolchildren and students, the use of which is not directly related to the organization and conduct of such events or participation in them;
payment for participation in international sports competitions held abroad by persons who did not directly train athletes of school and student teams for these competitions, as well as those whose involvement in such competitions is not mandatory in accordance with the regulations for their conduct, in particular, officials of state bodies, as well as enterprises, institutions, and organizations.
The Cabinet of Ministers has simplified the leasing of municipal and state property for certain types of CSOs
From now on, youth and children's public organizations that cooperate with authorities in youth policy, as well as state and municipal youth centers, will be able to lease property without holding an auction.
This applies to premises that can be used for youth programs, educational initiatives, public initiatives, and awareness-raising initiatives.
These changes are expected to:
- expand the opportunities for youth centers to operate;
- strengthen the capacity of youth and children's CSOs;
- contribute to the creation of new spaces for working with young people in communities.
The decision is aimed at developing youth infrastructure and supporting young people's active participation in community life.
CSOs and charitable organizations can also lease state property at a reduced rate of 0.01 for the temporary accommodation of internally displaced persons.
